All-time manner to summate % body fat?
I used a formula off the cyberspace today and got a really depression number that I don't trust. Here is the equation.
Body Fatty Formula For Men
Factor 1 (Full trunk weight x 1.082) + 94.42
Cistron ii Waist measurement x 4.15
Lean Trunk Mass Factor 1 - Cistron 2
Body Fat Weight Total bodyweight - Lean Body Mass
Body Fatty Percentage (Trunk Fat Weight x 100) / full bodyweightI'm 141.5 lbs with a 30 inch waist.
My BMI going by the charts is about 23.5. This formula gave me a 13% body fat. Does that sound correct to anyone?
Appreciate the assistance.

I'd never seen that before, but that puts me within four# of the lean trunk mass that a hydrodensity exam calculated me to exist in September. My avi was taken at 16% bf, so you might be a percent or two higher than what you lot've suggested.Originally Posted past pathdoc2

My BF %
oct eleven 2011.jpg
This formula puts me at at 22% I did the caliper test using the brozaic method? Not sure if I got the proper noun correct. Dont have my ISSA volume in front end of me. That put me at 19% I have an after pic on my bodyspace. Maybe someone tin tell me where they think I am. I fastened a picture if information technology works

I only ordered a Omron hand held body fat analyzer. We'll see if information technology works. $29.99 off eBay and so not also large of a lose if it doesn't work.

If it works information technology volition be the best money you evwer spent for tracking your progress. As long equally you follow the instructions and cheque your BF percentage at the same time of twenty-four hour period you should be set up. My advice is to check it when you first get up in the morning before eating or drinkinjg anything.Originally Posted by pathdoc2

Encarmine but unbowed
Sorry, but the bio-impedance monitors are a waste product of fourth dimension. They depend on a small electric current that passes through the body and compare the time information technology takes to pass through the body against statistics collected from a range of people. In that location are so many variables that can influence the time it takes that they are regarded every bit pretty worthlessOriginally Posted past pathdoc2

Here are a few skin fold calculators

The virtually "applied and accurate" method, in my stance, is a BOD POD. They are every bit accurate as a douse tank. It uses the aforementioned method as hydrostatic, except BOD POD displaces air, non water. DEXA machines are uncommon and testing is expensive.Originally Posted by fittofattofit

The best style, IMO, is to put pics up in the Losing Fatty department and ask.

I picked upwardly an Accumeasure caliper this by weekend and measured out at fifteen.nine% bodyfat which was confirmed by the formula posted by the OP at sixteen%. The truth hurts and I need to update my bodyspace from fourteen% to xvi%. Maybe, perhaps not...
The charts for my caliper provide unlike bodyfat % based on age i.east. a ten mm pinch can indicate a bodyfat % ranging from x.5% for an xviii year old to nineteen.one% for a 56 year old. It seems similar the chart incorporates historic period related musculus attrition in calculating the bodyfat % so it may not be accurate for someone that lifts regularly who experiences musculus growth rather than attrition. Hopefully my bodyfat % is actually lower than that unsaid in the nautical chart for my age group. Of course that doesn't explain the confirmation by the OP's formula.
I'thou fat. I'thousand not fat. I'1000 fat. I'grand not fat. Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Do yourself a favor, drink 2 bottles of water and retest. Better yet, test in the morning, and test in the evening.Originally Posted past pathdoc2

This formula has me at 16.792%, at my electric current bodyweight of 253.2.
I'm going to say maybe i'm at 20-23% in reality.

re: bio vs. caliper -- I've been running monthly tests since July, getting checked at the gym via bio-impedence (Omron 306) and then by caliper at the local supp store. Caliper checks were with the same attendant, immediately afterwards the gym check. At higher ranges, the variance was about 6% (the start July examination was: bio-imp = 16, caliper = 22, avg. of 3 readings both cases.) Coming down in BF, the two methods were inside 1.5%, September reading was: bio-imp = 11.5, caliper = 13, avg of 3 readings.

I did that formula and I got 17.0885572%
The mind is the only limit. Every bit long as the mind tin can envision something, you lot can do information technology.

IMO the merely 100% accurate way to find your BF% is to get a DEXA scan.... not only do y'all get yous Torso Fat %, but actual BF per body part, Lean Mass per trunk role and Bone Density. The data is invaluable and provides the large moving picture of what going on within your body... stepping on scales only doesnt cutting it for me.... I might see weight loss or gain, just the DEXA will tell yous what you're losing or gaining... last fourth dimension I had a scan I'd recently lost 3kgs (6.6lbs).... I was worried I'd lost LBM.... however the scan told me I'd shed 4kgs of Fat, but had gained 1 kg of LBM from my previous scan... needless to say I walked away smile that solar day..... so my communication, find a identify that does DEXA scans, and do them semi regularly to continue track.

Ozbb, how did you find who offers this service? Fifty-fifty internet searches of "DEXA scan MY-CITY,Land" comes upwardly empty . . . did find ane though, and when I called, the person answering the phone didn't know if the results would include body fat, and when she asked others, she said their results were simply for bone density (??????).Originally Posted by OZBB
